My Own Personal Review of the 2007 Mizuno Wrath ASA 34" 27oz
Mizuno is still in the doghouse with many of its loyal customers, after releasing the dreaded blur. We are all hoping to see Mizuno bring back the performance and sweet spot of the Crush original with their new Wrath line. The new Wrath does not let us down with its big sweet spot, nice endload, huge pop, and a quick break in. With in the first few swings I could feel the bat changing, and with in 50 swings it was getting red hot. We were testing the bat on a 95 degree day, with a strong side wind and .44 cor 375 asa softballs (mix of decker, worth gold dots, and dudley thunders). The field dimensions were 360LF/360CF/340RF, which was not nearly big enough to contain the WRATH! With in the first 10 swings out of the wrapper, I had two balls off the fence, and even one line drive that went out in a hurry. The bat started to really come around quick, and with the stiff handle and great endload it was killing even the soft mush balls during our hot afternoon test session. The sweet spot wasn’t exactly huge to begin with, but it definitely got bigger with every few swings. The feel is definatley similar to that of the older mizunos that everyone fell in love with. I personally feel that this bat is far superior to even the original crush that has created a cult like following.
If your considering trying Mizuno again, and are a bit gun shy, don’t be… The WRATH delivers everything you could ever ask for in a super high performance ASA bat.
