My Own Personal Review of the 2008 Rip It Reaper ASA 34" 27oz
Let me start by saying that Rip It is the little engine that could... They are a new company that is bringing some of the best performing bats, and safety equipment in the industry. Their new line of bats for 2008 including the Reaper 98 and Reaper 120 will blow your mind. The new Reaper 98 combines a huge sweet spot with that very familiar swing weight and barrel size similar to the Miken Freak original. For all you ASA ball players who were in love with their Freaks, this is the new bat for you. The performance right out of the wrapper is amazing, and only gets better with each swing. The bat I tested was a stock 27oz that was taken direct from our stores inventory. For a 98mph bat, I was surprised. The majority of the new 98mph bats are not forgiving enough for the average ball player, but the new Reaper felt good no matter where I hit it on the barrel. (yes the taper and the end cap are still dead, but if your hitting home runs off the taper, then your probably swinging an Ultra). The only thing that I could complain about was the lack feedback I got when I struck the ball good... I thought I missed a ball, and then looked up and saw it clearing the fence and still rising. This bat is one of the very best ASA bats you can get, so don't hesitate to get one for yourself.
