The picture above show's both sides of the bat... Click on the image above for a close up.
The new ASA version of the PST is by no means a slouch... The overall performance is good with the sweet spot and feel right there with the RED120. The only difference I noticed was the slighly more balanced feel, and the slight difference in distance. Overall I would say the blue is about 10-15ft short of the red on average. This show's to be more of a problem when your hitting the super soft .40 cor or cork balls, but with the .44 375 it wasnt bad... I would have to compare the BLUE pst to be more like the original (VERY FIRST POWDER SHELL) PST. It feel's very similar. I would guess thats because they have made the walls just a touch thicker, and taken a little out of the end and put it in the handle to meet the super stringent ASA guidlines for weight distribution. The speed in the infield was good, not quite as good as the RED PST, but not bad... I would still say this bat would kick the crap outta the other aluminum bats from TPS, Easton Etc... This is the premier ASA ALUM/TITANIUM BAT for 2005. The only other bat I could recomend to be equal with it in performance would be the RTCK. However the RTCK is no where near the PST in durability, nor does it have the 2 year warranty. So if you dont mind putting up $350-$400 for a bat that will last you 2 seasons, then the PST IS IT!!! If you want to have an excuse to get a new bat at least once a year, then dont go with the PST... Cause you wont be breaking this bat the first year you have it... And we all know that Mama will say your crazy when you ask to get another bat to go with your perfectly round PST... But if you have a cracked or badly dented bat, then maybe you can get some sympathy points and she'll let you get a new bat... Other then the super long life of the PST, I dont see any other possible drawbacks... LOL! (of course that durability issue is only a drawback for us typical bat slut's who love to get a new bat every chance we get!)
