My Own Personal Review of the DeMarini Evo Ax
Let me start this review with a short note about how dissapointed I was
in the yellow evo original... That bat was supposed to be better then sliced bread, and I just
didnt think it was all that good... Especially since it was a USSSA/ISA 100+MPH bat and was not
approved for ASA... Well with that outta the way, let me say THIS IS NOT THE SAME BAT!!! Not
even close... This bat is 20ft further then the yellow, right outta the wrapper... With in 100
swings, the EVO AX will be SMOKING THE BALL 10% further then the yellow evo, and that may be
a conservative estimate... The EVO AX is the best bat that Ive swung from DeMarini in at least
2-3 years... The bat I went with was a 28oz, since the swing weight of the Evo was a touch lighter
then the endloaded combat or endloaded pst I had been swinging... This was the RIGHT CHOICE...
The 28oz was performaning like a champ after only 1 round of bp to break her in... The sweet
spot is almost the entire length of the barrell... And with the incredible handle flex, even
the half swings were smoking the ball... I was slapping line drives 290-300ft with ease... (.44
375 balls)... With a 3/4 swing 310-320 was easy... This bat is THE BAT TO HAVE FROM DEMARINI
FOR 2005/2006 and beyond!! Your not going to be dissapointed.
If you have really good bat speed, try going up at least 1oz heavier then your normal bat. This
extra oz will easily solve any over swinging problems, and you'll be hitting the ball further
then you ever thought possible with a 98mph bat...
